Yoga and breathwork

Daily movement and breathwork on the lawn or under cover, adapted to what each guest can do.

Daily sessions, held on the lawn when the weather allows and under cover when it does not. Classes are small and adapted — a guest who arrives exhausted does a different session from one training for something.

How it is used here

Gentle movement, breath, and stillness. For a lot of guests the stillness is the hard part and the movement is the easy one, which tends to be informative in itself.

Breathwork is taught alongside it and is used with the cold work where that is part of your protocol.

Two cautions worth stating

Tell the teacher about injuries, joint replacements, hypertension, glaucoma, pregnancy or recent surgery, and positions will be adapted.

Intensive breathwork is not neutral. Hyperventilation-based practices can cause fainting, and they are not appropriate in pregnancy, in cardiovascular conditions, in epilepsy, or for some people with a psychiatric history. Never practise them in or near water. Both of those are safety rules, not preferences.

Mountains of Hope holds a Colombian IPS medical facility licence, and everything here sits inside a protocol set by our medical team.

Whether this is right for you is a medical question.
