Shiftwave chair

A Shiftwave chair on site — pressure, vibration and sound in a short guided session.

The Shiftwave chairs sit in the conditioning space. A session combines pressure waves through the chair with sound through headphones and an eye mask that blocks the light, and it runs for roughly ten to twenty minutes.

What a session is like

You recline fully clothed, put on the mask and headphones, and a programme runs. The pressure is firm and rhythmic rather than a massage. Most guests describe it as unexpectedly settling, and it is one of the few items where people ask to go again the same day.

It is short, it needs no preparation, and it slots easily between other things.

Being straight about it

This is a wellness device. We are not claiming it regulates your nervous system or fixes your sleep. It is offered because guests find it pleasant and settling, which is a good enough reason for it to exist on the property and not a good enough reason to make a clinical claim about it.

Who should check first

Anyone pregnant, with a recent injury or surgery, with a spinal condition, with an implanted device, or with a history of motion sensitivity. Your physician here will say.

Mountains of Hope holds a Colombian IPS medical facility licence.
