A consultation with a psychiatrist as part of the diagnostic picture, not a substitute for ongoing care at home.
Please read. A consultation here does not replace your existing psychiatric or psychological care, and we will not ask you to stop any prescribed medication. If you are in crisis, please contact your local emergency services or a crisis line rather than waiting for a consultation.
Physical and mental health are not separable, and a protocol that ignored one to work on the other would be incomplete. A psychiatry consultation forms part of the diagnostic picture for guests where it is relevant.
A conversation with a psychiatrist, informed by your intake, your bloodwork and — where it has been done — your brain mapping. It looks at sleep, at history, at medication and at what is actually going on, and it feeds into the protocol the medical team builds.
It is not a course of therapy. A fortnight is not long enough for that, and anyone who tells you otherwise is selling something. It is not a second opinion designed to override your own clinician, and it is not a route to changing or stopping medication you take at home.
Where continuing support is the right answer, we will say so, and we would rather you arranged that with someone you can see regularly than with us.
