Medicinal cannabis

Prescribed and dispensed under Colombian law by our medical team, where clinically appropriate.

Prescription only. Medicinal cannabis is prescribed by our medical team under Colombian law, where clinically appropriate. It is not offered as a treatment for, or a means of curing or reversing, any disease or condition. Nothing on this page is medical advice.

Colombia has a regulated medicinal cannabis framework. That is the basis on which it is available here, and it is worth being precise about what that does and does not mean for you.

Three things to know before you ask

  • It is prescribed, not chosen. A physician decides whether it is appropriate, at what formulation and at what dose.
  • It stays in Colombia. You cannot take a prescription issued here across a border, and attempting to is a criminal matter in most countries regardless of what it says on the label.
  • It interacts. Anticoagulants, sedatives, some antidepressants and some cardiac medications all matter here. So does a personal or family history of psychosis.

How it is used here

Where it is prescribed, it sits inside the wider protocol alongside everything else — sleep, food, movement, the water circuit — rather than being the centre of a stay. Dosing is reviewed during the stay and adjusted.

Guests who arrive hoping this will be the main event are usually surprised by how small a part of the fortnight it is.
