Ear-point stimulation, usually alongside acupuncture, delivered by trained practitioners.
Auriculotherapy works with points on the outer ear. In practice it is usually offered alongside acupuncture rather than on its own, and it is one of the shorter items on a protocol.
The practitioner examines the ear and stimulates selected points, either with fine needles or with small seeds or studs held in place with tape. Where seeds are used they stay on for a few days and you press them yourself at intervals — the practitioner will show you when and how.
Sessions are short, generally fifteen to twenty minutes.
You take anticoagulants, have a skin condition affecting the ear, or have any metal sensitivity. If you are prone to skin irritation from adhesive tape, say so and the practitioner will use an alternative.
Mountains of Hope holds a Colombian IPS medical facility licence, and everything here sits inside a protocol set by our medical team.
