Functional nutrition

Food built into the protocol by the medical team, grown fifty metres from the kitchen.

Most places treat food as hospitality. Here it is part of the protocol — built by the medical team alongside everything else, adjusted to what the diagnostics show, and cooked by people who know what each guest is working toward.

Where it comes from

Fifty organic crops are grown on the property, on terraced beds cut into the hillside below the house. What is picked in the morning is on the table that day. Nothing is flown in to look impressive.

You can walk down and look at the beds. Most guests do, once.

How your plan is set

Pre-arrival stool and blood analysis, on-site diagnostics and a consultation inform what you are given. Intolerances, medication interactions and existing dietary requirements are accounted for. If you are diabetic, coeliac, on anticoagulants or following a plan set by your own clinician, tell us before you travel.

Plans are adjusted during the stay as later results come in. This is also the part of a protocol guests most often ask to take home, and the kitchen will write it down for you.

See The Table for what the food actually looks like. Mountains of Hope holds a Colombian IPS medical facility licence.

Whether this is right for you is a medical question.

Book a consultation if you would like to discuss whether any of this is appropriate for you.
